Vendor Policy Festival Date: Friday & Saturday, June 1 & 2, 2007 Festival Hours: Friday 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Booths must be open for business during these hours. (Saturday racing event begins at 7:30 a.m. Vendors have the option to also open 8-10 a.m.) Fees: Event fee is 10% of gross sales. This is due and payable at the close of the festival Saturday, June 2, 2007 by 9:00 p.m. Payable to: American heritage Academy / Skandi Dag. Spaces are 12' x 12' and 20' x 12'. If you need another size, please visit with us. Set-up: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Friday. Please contact vendor chairman to arrange an earlier set up, if needed. Takedown: No booths will be removed prior to 5:00 p.m. Saturday. All booths must be removed by 8:00 p.m. Saturday. Booth Acceptance: The following items must be on file with the Event Board to receive vending space: Signed vending agreement. Copy of sales tax permit. (Temporary sales tax permits are available at the Idaho State Tax Commission. 800-972-7660.) Plans (pictures or drawings) for your booth décor. Booths and any attachments must stay within the designated area. There will be NO “sub-leasing” of vendor space. Booth Decorations: Each vendor is responsible to create an atmosphere of Scandinavia in the booth. This includes all workers being dressed in at least simple Scandinavian costume at all times. Examples of Scandinavian booth décor are: flower bouquets, flower garlands, greenery, rosmaling, Scandinavian flags, thatched roofing and old Scandinavian designs. Costumes: All individuals working in booths must be in Scandinavian costume at all times. Simple women's costume is white blouse, long dark skirt, and apron. More traditional costume is: white blouse with long sleeves, apron over long (mid-calf to floor length) skirt, coordinating small shaw,l daisy wreath or Scandinavian style bonnet. Deliveries: Skandi Dag will not be responsible for property of exhibitors. No deliveries will be accepted at the Festival on behalf of the Exhibitor. Drawings: Vendors who wish to offer a drawing must include this in their jury application. Drawings must not require the contestant to submit more than the information needed to run the contest, (Name, phone, address) nor can drawing require a purchase or obligation of any kind. This information must be handwritten on the forms by the patron and can be solicited on a voluntary basis only. You must jury the prizes and a sign giving the exact description of the prizes and when the drawing will be held. All drawing must be held after the close of the Festival. Games of Chance: The Festival prohibits all forms of gambling and games of chance during all events. Raffles may not be conducted. Jury Process : A list of all products and literature offered by you at the Festival must be submitted to the Vendor Committee for approval. Only those items listed and approved may be sold in your booth. (To promote your business, our aim is to avoid duplication of products for sale.) Sales Tax: All vendors must have a copy of a permanent or temporary Idaho State Sales Tax number on file with the Festival director before being allowed to transact any business at the Festival. The Idaho Sales Tax Act requires every retailer engaged in business in Idaho to obtain a seller's permit. Retailers are also required to collect (6%) six percent Idaho sales tax on each retail sale that is not exempt from tax. This tax immediately becomes the property of the State held in trust by the retailer. Contact the Idaho State Tax Commission office for any questions and forms at 800-972-7660. Security: The Festival is not responsible for the loss of the exhibitor's goods or displays by theft or any other means. Each exhibitor should ensure that their goods or displays are secured against loss at all times during the Festival. Exhibitors who feature expensive or vulnerable items need to ensure that they have proper security to protect those items from damage or loss. Note that strong winds are possible and plan to secure your goods in such an event. Signs and Advertising: No persons or exhibitors are permitted to distribute printed or advertising materials, solicit funds, or put up merchandise signs other than at the space allotted to them for that purpose. The use of gongs, bells, or other noisy instrument for the purpose of attracting attention is prohibited. If P.A. systems or other instruments are used, the volume must be kept low enough that neighboring exhibitors are not disturbed. Services : No Electricity Parking: Parking is adjacent to the park. No vehicles allowed on the park during the festival. Restrooms: On site Trash: Dumpsters and trash can are on site. Water: No potable water on site. Bring your own. Bottled water is offered for sale by the Festival committee.. Space Assignment: The Festival Vendor Committee will authorize the letting of space for the sale of such merchandise as is deemed supportive of the Festival mission to provide a Scandinavian culture and history experience to the community. Under no circumstances will merchandise of a questionable nature or of a demoralizing tendency be sold or in any manner tolerated on the grounds or in exhibits.
